Mr. May is a seasoned geologist with more than 32 years of extensive geological experience within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and internationally.
A proven oil and gas finder who has drilled literally hundreds of wells, Mr. May has multi-faceted experience that spans prospect generation, structural geology, reservoir studies, log analysis, core analysis, petrophysics, property evaluations, DST/AOF/PT analysis, economics, oil & gas operations, and business management.
Mr. May has held positions at Amoco Canada Petroleum Company, Anschutz Canada Limited, Pembina Resources Limited., and Circumpacific Energy Corporation. Immediately prior to joining Midlake, he was a founder, vice president and chief operating officer with Excite Energy Corp. until its sale in June 2006. Mr. May received a B.Sc. Hons. Geology (minor Engineering) in 1973 from Dalhousie University and is past President of the 3900 member Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists.
